We’ve completed our Prayer Wheel for World Peace

and invite you to join us for the consecration

on the upcoming, powerful Buddha Day!

Buddha Day Prayer Wheel Consecration!

Thursday, July 15 is a very special day...

  • Buddha Day – Celebration of Buddha Shakyamuni’s

First Teaching

“Karmic results are multiplied one hundred million times, as

cited by Lama Zopa Rinpoche in the Vinaya text Treasure of

Quotations and Logic” making this an excellent day to create

virtue, take precepts, be generous, abstain from non-virtue, etc.

  • also FPMT International Sangha Day

“The Sangha, by taking vows of renunciation, living in morality

and having the space to focus on the Dharma are an integral

part of maintaining the existence of the Buddha's teachings.

It is for this reason that FPMT International Sangha Day is set

to fall on the First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma Day.”

“From the early days of the FPMT, monks and nuns have served

tirelessly to help bring the benefit of the Buddha’s teachings to

the far corners of this planet. Today, the FPMT International

Mahayana Institute (IMI) community has over 300 monks and

nuns who continue to serve throughout the FPMT in many

capacities: as teachers, retreat leaders, center directors,

spiritual program coordinators, developers of educational

    curriculum, editors and as counselors.”

At Dorje Chang Institute we are very fortunate to have four

resident Sangha members, two monks and two nuns including

Lharampa Geshe Wangchen (Resident Teacher), Ven Lobsang

Konchunk (Resident Artist), Ven Gyalten Wangmo (Spiritual

Program Coordinator) and Ven Tenzin Nangsa (Geshe-la’s Attendant/Secretary).

Sponsorship of Sangha food and stipends is always appreciated.

Each year we also make a donation to support the FPMT’s

IMI monastic community. Donations towards this are

    wonderful too.

  • Dorje Chang Institute’s Prayer Wheel for World Peace

Consecration

We’ve completed our Prayer Wheel for World Peace and invite

you to join us for the consecration! Sponsorship and donations

are still very much needed to complete payment for the Prayer

a part of the benefit the Prayer Wheel offers to sentient beings!

Group Recitation of Vajra Cutter Sutra!

Monday, 7.30pm July 26 (Sutra Hour)

Lama Zopa Rinpoche on the Benefits of the Vajra Cutter Sutra:

"The Vajra Cutter Sutra is unbelievable. It is one of the most profitable

practices... The most important thing is that each time we read it; it

plants a seed, an imprint to realize emptiness. The more you read it,

the more imprints it leaves on the mind. So it becomes easy to realize

emptiness. It becomes quicker and quicker to realize emptiness in

this life. If not in this life, then quickly in future lives."

"You also create a lot of merit, so it helps to actualize bodhichitta quickly,

together with all the other realizations. That's the business. That's the deal

with the Vajra Cutter Sutra. You create so much merit for whatever you wish.

You help others and you achieve all your wishes easily."
