Dorje Chang Institute is a Registered Charitable Trust since 1976. We are supported by Dharma Friends, residents, volunteers and donations.

Thanks to your support we are able to continue offering a place for the Dharma to be taught as well as all of the conditions to study and pursue Dharma practice - Resident Teacher, Sangha, translator, holy objects and other facilities.

Important Changes To Tax Laws Governing Charitable Donations in New Zealand

On April 1st 2008 significant new laws came into effect concerning donations to charities. The previous $1,890 threshold has been removed.

Individuals can now claim a 33.3% tax rebate for donations up to a maximum claim equal to their annual taxable income. The 5% limit that companies could claim has been removed and will now be limited only by the amount of the company's net income.
