Yamantaka Fire Puja 2020

Sunday 4 October 2020

Below are details on the upcoming 2020 Fire Puja and also information on what a Fire Puja is and the benefits.

2020 Fire Puja Update:

In the current situation, Dorje Chang Institute has decided that this year’s Annual Yamantaka Fire Puja is going to be a restricted ceremony. People can participate by sponsoring offerings and dedications, however it will not be possible to attend in person.

Special Blessings to Take Home:

As a gift to this year’s Fire Puja Sponsors, we would like to offer the option of requesting some very blessed ashes and blessed vase water from the Fire Puja to take to your home.

  • Blessed Yamantaka Fire Puja ashes can be sprinkled in the four corners of your property. Geshe-la said this is really, really beneficial. It can help protect from obstacles, protect from thieves and also protect those living on the property.
  • Blessed Yamantaka Fire Puja vase water contains powerful holy substances and is blessed by Yamantaka. Geshe-la explains that the blessed vase water can help stop disease.

These take-home blessings can be requested when you register your dedications and sponsorship

On the registration form you will be able to request these. We will prepare individual packets of the ashes. Please note that if you would like some blessed vase water you will need to bring a bottle of water and we will pour some of the blessed vase water into your bottle of water. You will also need to arrange a time to collect these or combine it with attending an in-person class or puja at DCI (but arriving early to do so). Please note: These will be available for collection from 9 October onwards.

What is a Yamantaka Fire Puja?

This special, once-a-year puja, performed by Geshe Wangchen, is an excellent way to clear away obstacles to our health, life, success and Dharma practice. With the right motivation it has the potential to super-charge our purification and accumulation of positive energy.

This puja is by donation.

By sponsoring these offerings made to Yamantaka (the wrathful aspect of the Buddha of Wisdom) and including your dedications you and those you dedicate for will definitely receive the blessings of the Buddhas.

How to Register

Please use the online registration form to sponsor the puja offerings and include your dedications. This puja is a powerful opportunity to sponsor dedications for family, friends and others in need. Abundant offerings are made during the Fire Puja and so there are great opportunities for sponsorship. Any amount is welcome. The form allows the following payment methods: Internet Banking, POLi facilitated Internet Banking and PayPal (using a credit card or a PayPal account).

Registration Deadline: Please register all of your dedications using our online form no later than 2 October. (Early registration is appreciated.) After that Online Registrations will be closed.

Unfortunately, in the current situation, Dorje Chang Institute will also be unable to hold its annual Fire Puja Morning Tea Fundraiser this year.
