Practices to Create the Conditions for Rinpoche's Excellent Health this Year

Send us your totals by 12 February! We are now at the end of the year of recitations that has been underway since early 2017 and concludes very soon. Please send us an email with the total of how many complete Vajra Cutter Sutras you have recited and how many complete Dependent Arising: A Praise of the Buddha. Please send us your total no later than 12 February so we can collate all of the individual as well as the DCI group recitations and offer our total to FPMT for Rinpoche’s long life. Thanks so much! We rejoice! Don’t be shy, each recitation counts! There are still a few days left to participate, so feel free to recite and send us your total.

FPMT requested Khadro-la for advice on what practices FPMT Centres and students can do to create the causes for Our Spiritual Director, Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s excellent health this year. This page includes the advised practices and related information.

DCI is organizing group practice times you can join. See the dates and times at the bottom of this page.

These practices can also be done at home. Links to download the texts are below.

The Advice

Every year Ven. Roger Kunsang, on behalf of the FPMT organization, checks with one of Rinpoche’s gurus and also with Khadro-la (Khadro Rangjung Neljorma Khandro Nangsel Dronme) whether practices should be done to help create the conditions for Lama Zopa Rinpoche to have good health for the coming year.

Khadro-la has recently advised that some prayers need to be recited, together with a number of pujas (the pujas will be done in the monasteries in India, but can be sponsored).

The prayers she advised are the Vajra Cutter Sutra, and the Dependent Arising: A Praise of the Buddha (Tendrel Topa).

The FPMT family of centres and students are being requested to join in the recitation of these prayers during the rest of this Tibetan year, and to keep track of our recitations.  We will collect all of the numbers (from group recitations we organize at DCI and any personal recitations you would like to contribute, and at the end of the Tibetan year (ie: just before Losar 2018) we will join our recitations together with other FPMT centres and students and the total will be offered to Rinpoche.

Report Your Recitations

Please keep track of the number of complete times you recite the Vajra Cutter Sutra and the complete number of times you recite the Praise of Dependent Arising. You can keep track of your recitations and then every so often report those numbers to us and then begin your count again. We will include your recitations in our group total. You can email us to report or click below to use our online Contact Us form. Thanks so much for joining us in creating the causes!

We will report to the FPMT our DCI total recitations (including individual recitations reported to us) just before Losar (Tibetan New Year) 2018. Our total will then be added to the total recitations worldwide by students and FPMT centres and then offered to Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
