The Details
When?
The puja will be offered on 17 December 2018. All contributions need to be received by DCI by 9 December.
Where?
Kopan Monastery (FPMT’s Root Monastery) in Nepal
Who is offering the puja?
All of the FPMT centers, projects, services and students
Why?
We offer Long Life Pujas to create the causes and conditions for our precious Guru Lama Zopa Rinpoche to stay in the world with us for a long time with excellent health, to continue to teach and to guide us to enlightenment in this and future lives.
Other causes we need to also create include cultivating harmony between students and following Rinpoche’s advice, including offering service, fulfilling practice advice, etc.
The purpose of the long life puja is for students to purify the mistakes that occur in relation to their teacher, and to create the causes and conditions to continue to receive benefit from that teacher for a very long time.
Rinpoche also regularly mentions that offering long life pujas is a cause for one’s own long life.
Your Opportunity
As you will see in some of the photos on this page from previous Long Life Pujas at Kopan, Long Life Pujas involve much preparation, organization and extensive offerings.
Our opportunity is to contribute ANY AMOUNT towards these offerings. It doesn’t matter how small, like a drop of butter added to a butter lamp offering, we get to easily contribute to this amazing, extensive puja they are organizing at Kopan Monastery.
How can I participate?
It’s easy!
