Yamantaka Fire Puja

Sunday, 17 September 2023

Below are details on the upcoming 2023 Fire Puja and also information on what a Fire Puja is and the benefits.

The DCI Annual Yamantaka Fire Puja will be held on Sunday, 17 September from 10am – 12 noon followed by a Gratitude Morning Tea. The Fire Puja will be held outside by the Stupa and will be performed by Geshe Wangchen. We are so happy to be able to welcome you in person! If you can’t join us, you can still sponsor offerings and dedications. The last day for submitting online registrations is 14 September.

Following the Fire Puja, we would like to offer a delicious morning tea (chai, sandwiches, sweet and savoury treats, etc.) to everyone as a thank you for all of your kind and generous support over this last year. If you would like to be a part of the offering by making a contribution – either financial or baked goods – please let us know on your Fire Puja Registration Form.

Please note: If you feel unwell on the day of the puja, or have household members who are unwell, we ask that, out of kindness for others, you do not attend the puja in person. We are happy to include your dedications. Thank you very much for your consideration.

Would you like to help us?

We invite you to attend the Working Bee on Saturday, 16 September, 10am – 2pm to help with preparations or Volunteer on the day of the Fire Puja either before, during or after. Please let us know if you can help; there is a section on the Online Registration Form where you can offer help. Thank you!

What is a Yamantaka Jangwa Puja?

The Yamantaka Peaceful Fire Puja is excellent for clearing obstacles – including obstacles to our Dharma practice as well as to success in business, family, health & happiness. Geshe Wangchen will lead the puja. Families welcome. Everyone welcome to attend and participate or observe. This puja is by donation.

How to Register

There are two ways to register, sponsor the puja and include your dedications. This puja is a powerful opportunity to sponsor dedications for family, friends and others in need. Abundant offerings are made during the Fire Puja and so there are great opportunities for sponsorship. Any amount is welcome.

1) Sponsor through our online registration form (preferred method)
This includes four donation methods:  internet banking (manual), internet banking (facilitated by POLi), PayPal or cash in person in advance or arriving early on the day of the Fire Puja. Registering in advance is appreciated and will assist us in preparing your dedications and offerings. The last day for online registrations is 14 September.

Another option is to:

2) Arrive early on the day of the Fire Puja
On the day of the Fire Puja the Registration Table will open at 9am. Donations are welcome in the form of cash. We can also add last-minute dedications at this time.
